You’ll need to connect your dash cam using the hardwire kit provided on the official website (this requires some automotive knowledge; if you’re not familiar with cars, we recommend having it installed at an auto shop), then enable parking monitoring mode in the dash cam’s settings.

2. Will the parking monitoring mode drain my car battery?
No, all Redtiger dash cams are equipped with low-voltage protection. If the device detects that your car battery voltage is low, it will automatically stop parking monitoring to prevent your car from failing to start, so you can rest assured. (Of course, if your car remains unused for more than six months, the battery may drain on its own.)

3. Will the parking monitor overwrite the videos on my memory card overnight?

No, it doesn’t. Redtiger’s parking surveillance mode features “time-lapse recording” and “collision detection” modes.

In “time-lapse recording” mode, the video frame rate is adjusted. A video that would normally take 1 minute to record is compressed to about 8 seconds in this mode, so it doesn’t take up much storage space. (In this mode, the video plays back at double speed.)

In “Collision Detection Mode,” the camera does not record continuously; recording only starts when your vehicle is involved in a collision.
